You donā€™t have to care about any optional minibosses as they donā€™t offer shit anymore, and you already start with max health and gourd seeds assuming you entered ng+ that way. There is an option at the beginning of ng+ to increase the difficulty, which makes the game reasonably harder than normal ng. Other than that, itā€™s a cakewalk. 2
NG+ is one of the main feature of the game to experience the game with different skills and alternative quests and endings. However the game breaking bug completely breaks the game and since it overwrites the save file, there is no way to recover from this. I've heard that if you start over, you have to at least get to NG+ to access the new content anyway. The new content should show up in the menu on sculptor's idols. I have a save with ~150h on it. Defeated Guardian Ape and went straight for the Sculptor's Idol. No options for the new content.
There's new game plus modes, which means you keep the skills/health/attack power/inventory and you start again. The enemies and bosses do more damage and have more health.
