Check the Air filter box and/or pipe work (right hand side of the engine bay between the engine and battery cover). If you rev the engine stationery, and get someone to hold it/move it around you'll notice the noise change. The mountings the airbox sit on become worn, allowing movement and general resonance.

First take out the centre vents, just unclips, I fed it around and slowly released all the tabs and pulled off. Then remove the plastic trim around the handbrake button. The dealer says it's because the battery is low, which surprised me after such a short time. I don't do huge journeys, I've done probably 250 miles in the past month, but I wouldn't have thought the battery should deplete in such a short time. To replace the battery, on the key fob, you move the slider to remove the hidden metal key. They you use something like a flat screwdriver or a knife to pop off the middle cover of the back of the key. This then exposes the battery. Change battery, push the cover back on and put the key back in the hidden slider. Really easy to do.
